Sutton Coldfield’s MP & Councillors publish their joint Annual Report for 2009/10

16 February 2010

Sutton Coldfield’s MP Andrew Mitchell and the town’s 12 Councillors have this week released their joint Annual Report for 2009/10.

The Report, which has landed on over 40,000 doormats in Sutton Coldfield this week, provides an insight into some of the work that Mr Mitchell and the town’s 12 Councillors have been doing over the past year. The Report includes short accounts from Sutton’s elected members, such as how Andrew Mitchell MP took the town’s educational concerns to the Secretary of State, how our Councillors have cracked down on anti-social behaviour as well as updates on the town centre regeneration.

Importantly, the Report also contains a one page survey which residents can fill out and return by freepost to Andrew Mitchell MP.  This is a chance for Suttonians to tell their Member of Parliament what their thoughts, views and concerns are for the year ahead.  Mr Mitchell will personally reply by letter to anyone who completes and returns a survey.

Andrew Mitchell MP said, “Having had the privilege of serving the people of Sutton for nine years, I am keenly conscious of the importance of regularly reporting back to my constituents on how I represent their interests alongside our hardworking Councillors – both in Sutton Coldfield and in the House of Commons.  I hope that this report gives Sutton’s residents a flavour of some of the work our local Councillors and I have been doing over the past 12 months.

“I sincerely hope that as many residents as possible reply to our survey, I am looking forward to hearing peoples’ views on the issues that are important to them.  I will personally reply to all those who take the time to complete and return the survey.
