Andrew Mitchell MP visits Banners Gate Counselling Centre
04 January 2010
Sutton MP Andrew Mitchell has been catching up on progress at one of Sutton Coldfield’s health charities.
Mr Mitchell first visited Banners Gate Counselling Centre to cut the ribbon on the charity’s new Boldmere Road dedicated suite in 2005. The centre provides an accessible and affordable counselling service to more than 210 people each year, thanks to 28 qualified counsellors and 16 support staff, who give their time for free.
Madeline Partridge, Director of Banners Gate Counselling Centre, explains: “We provide a safe, confidential and professional environment where everyone is accepted and respected. As demand grows for our service, Andrew’s continued support will help ensure we can give our clients the help they need to forge a more satisfying and meaningful way of life.”
Andrew Mitchell MP said, “Banners Gate Counselling Centre is doing valuable work for Sutton and I thank them on behalf of us all.”
Banners Gate Counselling Centre was established in 1997 and is funded by charitable grants and donations; clients are asked to donate as much as they can afford for counselling sessions.
